Nick Grady, MMA fighter and U.S. Army veteran, killed in shooting outside convenience store
Nick Grady, 40, was identified as the deceased victim in a shooting in Eastover, North Carolina over the weekend.
Grady, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away tragically on Saturday, July 22, 2023, after gunshots were fire during a dispute outside a convenience store.
The Sheriff Ennis W. Wright: Cumberland County NC Facebook page released an initial statement saying, “On July 22nd, 2023, at 12:53 p.m., Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a physical disturbance at 4001 Pembroke Lane, Eastover, NC. The disturbance led to four people being shot.
“The victims were taken to undisclosed hospitals, where one victim succumbed to his injuries. Their identities are being withheld at this time.
“This does not appear to be a random incident. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

Grady, who served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan while serving in the U.S. Army, was also a professional mixed martial artist with a 3-4 record. In his last fight, Grady was defeated in the first round from strikes by Najim Wali at Shogun Fights 22.
