Olivia Parker Ready For Invicta FC Debut
With Invicta FC set to make its return to action, Olivia Parker will be one of the first fighters to get back in the cage. Parker will be making her Invicta FC debut after an undefeated 4-0 start to her professional career. Invicta FC 40 is set for Thursday, July 02, 2020, inside Memorial Hall at Kansas City, Kansas.
Making Invicta FC Debut
For any female fighter looking to get into the UFC, Invicta FC is normally the gateway. Olivia Parker is storming into Invicta with a 4-0 record in Valor Fighting Challenge, a regional promotion in Tennessee. Parker was able to get a fight in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic stopped action in March 2020. She scored a reverse triangle submission in the first round at Valor Fighting Challenge 68 in January 2020. At 38-years old, Parker just goes to show regardless of age a dream can be reached.
“I am so excited for the opportunity to fight for Invicta. I’ve been a HUGE fan of the promotion for a long time,” Parker told MyMMANews. “I’m going to give everything I have into the competition and have fun doing it. I love MMA so much and I’m living a dream I never thought would come true so I hope they see the joy.”
What started as a chance to cut down her weight from 320lbs, turned into a passion. The 35-year old mother was looking to keep her competitive edge. Something was missing in her life and she found it in MMA. The high school teacher has fought through the adversities of the pandemic, not letting this opportunity slip away. “COVID certainly made training more difficult, but I was still able to work on myself both as a fighter and a person during this time,” Parker stated. I’m feeling really good about the opportunity. The testing and the uncertainty certainly adds some unknowns to the equations and makes things different, but it’s just a new experience. All the fighters are dealing with it.”
