ONE Championship again took over Singapore Indoor Stadium as they put on ONE: First Strike. The broadcast took place on Friday, October 15th, and was well-received by many martial arts aficionados.
The event featured an all-kickboxing card which was a first in the history of ONE Championship. The ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix quarterfinal bouts were all electrifying and a memorable clash for the inaugural ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title topped the marquee.
Superbon snatched the torch from the legend Giorgio Petrosyan and won via second-round knockout. Petrosyan was analytical from right out of the gate with his boxing. While Superbon looked to find a home for that brutal right kick. Things heated up in the second with Petrosyan looking to close the distance. Superbon went upstairs with the high kick in a well-timed fashion. Generating a knockout highlight that has been getting a lot of social media traction.

ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix
Former three-time Glory Kickboxing World Champion Marat Grigorian bested former two-time K-1 Kickboxing Champion Andy Souwer. He won this Grand Prix opening round collision by second-round technical knockout.
Grigorian was really finding a home with the boxing combinations right away. A left hook from Grigorian felled Souwer to the mat in round one. Souwer would get up but another left hand in round two dropped Souwer once more. Souwer seemed to be indicating some sort of injury sustained to his leg and was unable to beat the referee’s count this time.
Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong took part in a closely contested bout against ONE Championship debutant Tayfun Ozcan. Sitthichai was aggressive from the opening bell in this GP quarter final bout. He was keeping his opponent at range with powerful left kicks to the body. Ozcan showcased great speed and counter-punching but seemed to be operating on the backfoot a fair bit. Sitthichai’s forward pressure is evidently the major difference on the scorecards. Two of three judges saw Sitthichai as the winner and he got the split decision nod.
ONE: First Strike
Two-time K-1 Kickboxing Champion Chingiz Allazov steamrolled WBC Muay Thai World Champion Samy Sana. He stopped the French-Algerian fighter just 39 seconds into their Grand Prix quarter-final contest. After a head kick wobbled Sana in the first round, Allazov moved in with a well-placed left hook to the liver thereafter. That crumpled Sana and kept him down for the count.
In the opening ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Quarterfinal bout, former Glory Kickboxing World Champion Davit Kiria got the emphatic win. He dominated former K-1 Kickboxing Champion Enriko Kehl. He floored his opponent three times with hard punches to lock in the first-round TKO win.
Kicking off the pugilistic proceedings at ONE: First Strike, hulking heavyweight kickboxer Rade Opacic overwhelmed Patrick Schmid from the moment the bell rang. Opacic sent him to the canvas twice in the first round and didn’t seem to give him any time or space to breathe. Then Schmid was felled two more times in the second stanza and Opacic garnered the TKO win.
