Pimblett (18-3) is quickly becoming one of the UFC’s youngest stars. Just 27 years of age, Pimblett joined the UFC roster last summer and he knocked out Luigi Vendramini in his promotional debut. In his second UFC fight, Pimblett was able to take out Rodrigo Vargas at the last UFC London card. He has a brash personality and is quickly rising the ranks at 155lbs. There were rumors that Pimblett would fight Ottman Azatair, but the fight never came to be. Instead, Pimblett will take on Leavitt in a battle between two fighters who have been known for their colorful personalities.
Leavitt (10-1) is only 26 years old and he is 3-1 in the UFC so far. In his UFC debut, he knocked out veteran Matt Wiman with a slam. He then suffered a decision loss to another rising star in Claudio Puelles before pulling off back-to-back wins over Matt Sayles and Trey Ogden. Leavitt has proven his worth in the Octagon and he has also become a fan favorite of sorts due to his celebrations.
While no betting odds have been released yet for this matchup since it was just newly announced, you can expect that Pimblett will be favored to win the fight, albeit not as much of a favorite as he was against Vargas just because Leavitt is such a dangerous grappler if the fight hits the floor.
UPDATE: Pimblett has opened as a -400 favorite over Leavitt in the betting odds via BestFightOdds.
