A staph infection has forced UFC light heavyweight competitor Patrick Cummins out of this Friday’s UFC Fight Night 102 card against Gian Villante.
Cummins posted a video of the infection being treated and it is not pretty.
As fun as this staph infection was this week, I have to pull out of #UFCAlbany next week

The fight set for UFC Albany will be salvaged as he will be replaced by UFC newcomer Saparbek Safarov.
The UFC matchmakers have been busy trying to save the Fight Night 102 fight card. Aljamain Sterling and Tatiana Suarez were both pulled from their Albany fights with injuries, and Zubaira Tukhugov was pulled due to a USADA violation.
UFC Fight Night 102 takes place inside the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. The main event is a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Shamil Abdurakhimov. UFC Fight Pass will stream the entire event.
