Paulo Costa accused of striking nurse: Now due in Court
Paulo Costa was reportedly taken into police custody last night following an altercation between himself and a 26-year-old female nurse.
According to the Brazilian news outlet, Globo, the alleged incident took place in Contagem, Brazil at a local shopping center where Costa was going to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. For unknown reasons, the vaccine was not administered, however, Costa reportedly attempted to leave with the vaccine card, despite not receiving the vaccine.
Marco Mota, a municipal guard, told Globo that “the card was filled out. The worker’s said that, at the time of application, Costa did not accept to be vaccinated. He wanted to leave with the card, and they did not accept it. At that moment, a nurse was elbowed.”
Both Paulo Costa and the nurse were taken in for questioning, where the nurse reportedly had swollen lips. Both were soon released, and Costa is now due in court on a later date.
The accusation comes just one week after Costa’s bout with Luke Rockhold was pushed to August 20th. Come August, Costa will look to snap a two-fight losing skid and get back in the win column.
