The Plot Thickens: UFC says GSP still under contract; will use law if need be
Earlier today former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre went on ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani where GSP stated that he is no longer under contract or obligation to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Hours later, the UFC says St-Pierre is indeed still under the organization’s rule. Is he, or isn’t he?
“Georges St-Pierre remains under an existing agreement with Zuffa, LLC as his MMA promoter. Zuffa intends to honor its agreement with St-Pierre and reserves its right under the law to have St-Pierre do the same.”
