Puna Soriano talks UFC Long Island win; gives update on broken hand
Puna Soriano had a lot of emotions coming into his fight at UFC Long Island.
After starting his career 8-0, Soriano dropped back-to-back fights to Brendan Allen and Nick Maximov.
With two straight losses and a 2-2 record inside of the octagon, Soriano knew another loss could possibly put his UFC career in jeopardy. In fact, Soriano would go to regional events with teammates and think to himself that he might be back in an event like that.
Soriano then got a contract to face his former training partner Dalcha Lungiambula at UFC Long Island and Soriano immediately went to work and he had his hardest camp in which he really focused on his cardio.
Finally fight night came along and after a close first round, Soriano once again found himself in the win column as he only needed 28 seconds into the second round to land a big punch and secure a big time victory that earned him a performance of the night bonus from UFC president Dana White.
The win was emotional for Soriano as he celebrated inside of the octagon and then moments later in his post-fight interview, he had to hold back tears.
Now as the emotions have settled, Soriano spoke with MyMMANews about his win, his emotions, earning a performance bonus and he gave an update on his hand which he broke in the fight.
You can watch his full interview in the video above.
