Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau scheduled for UFC’s June 20 card
The UFC’s June 20 event is receiving a women’s bantamweight bout between Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau.
First reported by MMA Junkie, Pennington and Reneau agreed to the terms.
Pennington is 1-3 in her last four octagon appearances. The 12-time UFC veteran most recently lost by unanimous decision to Holly Holm at UFC 246 on Jan. 18. Prior to the defeat, she earned a split decision against Irene Aldana at UFC on ESPN 4 in July 2019.
Raquel Pennington is a long-time veteran, being former title challenger and alum of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 18.
Reneau is currently on a two fight skid. In her last outing, Reneau lost to Yana Kunitskaya by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+ 4 in March 2019. She dropped a unanimous decision to Cat Zingano at UFC Fight Night 133 in July 2018.
Her last victory is a second-round submission win against Sara McMann at UFC on FOX 28 in February 2018. Reneau is currently the oldest female on the UFC roster at 42 years old.
The UFC originally scheduled the June 20 card for Saskatoon, Canada. The location fell through due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no location currently set for the event.
