Ray Borg vs. Jesse Arnett headlines UAE Warriors Double Bill

UAE Warriors returns with back-to-back events next week from the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi showcasing some of the best regional and international MMA talent.

UAE Warriors 19: Arabia 3 will kick-off the double bill of action on June 18 with soaring Lebanese prodigy Mohammed Osseili (3-0) taking on Comorian striker Samir Zaidi (5-2) in the main event. This parallel series of UAE Warriors events began in January of this year with the goal of developing MMA within the region and providing a platform for fighters of Arabic heritage.

The following night, on June 19, will see an international UAE Warriors 20 event headlined by a spectacular bantamweight contest between former UFC title challenger Ray Borg (13-5) and top ranked Canadian Jesse Arnett (18-6), the winner of which will move on to compete for the promotion’s title.

Borg comes into the promotion after a six-year run in the UFC that saw him capture a series of impressive wins over top fighters such as Jussier Formiga, Shane Howell, Louis Smolka, and more, leading to a UFC title shot against legend Demetrious Johnson in the co-main event of UFC 216. Now the 27-year-old moves onto the next stage of his career and aims to take a step towards title contention in UAE Warriors.

First, however, he must take on a relentless Jesse Arnett. The 36-year-old veteran is on a three-fight win-streak and won his promotional debut with a hard-fought decision win over Elias Boudegzdame this past January. A former TKO champion in Canada, Arnett will no doubt see this fight with Borg as the biggest of his career.

Also announced for UAE Warriors 20 is co-main event between former Eagles champion Martun Mezhlumyan (11-2) and Attila Korkmaz (11-5) in the lightweight divsion and a huge clash between two of Europe’s top rising welterweights in Poland’s Daniel Skibinski (17-5) and Spain’s Acoidan Duque (16-2). The winner’s of these bouts will also progress to compete for titles in their respective divisions.

Both events will be available to watch live on the UAE Warriors app, available now on Android and iOS, The Fight Network in the United States & Canada, and through various broadcast partners globally.
