Presumably, there will be some theatrics to get Woodley vs Paul on the pugilistic public’s radar.
The timing of this faceoff makes a ton of sense. Jake’s brother Logan Paul readies to fight 50-0 generational great Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition boxing bout this Sunday.
The 39-year-old former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley enters free agency here. The Chosen One will be donning the big gloves for the first time in a live competitive setting. He makes his pro boxing debut here against Paul.
Woodley is entering this sweet science foray on the heels of a four-fight losing streak in MMA.
The first two losses being lopsided decision defeats. And the last pair of bouts seeing Woodley fall via injury-based TKO as well as submission, respectively.
Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley
The controversial 24-year-old Youtube star is 3-0 as a professional boxer. Jake Paul’s last bout saw him finish former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight titlist Ben Askren in the first round of their Triller Fight Club bout in April.
He is also known for his viral knockout of NBA star Nate Robinson.
All of Paul’s boxing wins at this point have taken place against debutants. This trend continues here for The Problem Child as he readies to don the gloves for the fourth time as a pro.
The date and location of this bout are not known as of this writing.
This will seemingly be the first fight on Paul’s newly signed multi-bout deal with Showtime. A broadcast platform that Woodley is familiar with from his Strikeforce days.
Who do you think gets it done when Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley goes down?
