Ricardo Prasel looks to show heart in UAE Warriors 22 co-main event
Ricardo Prasel did not have a lot of time to prepare for his UAE Warriors 22 co-main event, but he is still ready to go out and put on a show.
The former Chelsea FC goalkeeper and Dana White Contender Series veteran will take on former World Sambo champion and PFL veteran Mikhail Moknatkin on Saturday.
While the timing of the fight may not have been a perfect scenario, Prasel is going to make the best of it as things haven’t been the best down in his home country of Brazil.
“It hasn’t been a long time since I heard about the fight, so I didn’t do the best training of my life,” Prasel told MyMMANews. “Things in Brazil with covid19 aren’t facing me and that’s why today I need to work and train.”
Prasel (11-2) knows he has a tough opponent ahead of him in Moknatkin (12-5), but he believes his love for the fight game will carry him to a victory.
“You can expect a man who will fight with everything he has, with his heart at the end of his gloves as he always done,” Prasel said. “My opponent is a good fighter, he has good technical quality, that’s what I wanted, a worthy opponent.”
While Prasel isn’t looking past Saturday’s fight, he knows that win puts him in a great spot in his fighting career going forward.
“I definitely believe that a win here puts me in the game again. I’ve already been one step away from the UFC and maybe a win here puts me there again, but I have the desire to fight for the UAE Warriors belt.”
