Rin Nakai to drop to flyweight at Pancrase 279
One of the most unique female mixed martial artists on the planet, Rin Nakai, has fought out her two fight contract with the UFC, dropping both fights via decision; one to Miesha Tate, and most recently to Leslie Smith.
The thick 135-pounder who is known for her outgoing personality and strange internet based photos and videos will drop down to the flyweight division of 125-pounds when she competes at the Differ Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
The obvious difference between weight will be the organization. Nakai will fight at Pancrase 279 on July 24, however an opponent is yet to be named.
Not only is she shedding ten pounds for the fight but Nakai states that she would eventually like to drop down to strawweight, 115-pounds. Whether or not she can do it and be successful remains to be seen, but with a record of 16-2-1, and the only two losses coming in the UFC, one to the current champion, it should not be long before we see Nakai back in the UFC octagon.
