Ronda Rousey marries Travis Browne in Hawaii during May-Mac fight
Ronda Rousey marries Travis Browne – August 26, 2017
Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was not in Las Vegas last night for the biggest fight in combat sports history. Instead, Rousey was in Hawaii where she and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne tied the knot.
MMA’s biggest power couple got engaged earlier this year and decided to get hitched the same night as UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor took on boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather Jr.
UFC President Dana White, a close personal friend of Rousey, did not attend the ceremony as he was in Vegas with McGregor.
“Ronda Rousey gets married (Saturday),” White said during an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show.” “And she’s in a good place; she’s really happy, and she hasn’t announced her retirement or anything like that. She’s focusing on this wedding.”
Rousey has been relatively quiet since her last fight at UFC 207 in December 2016. The former champion was TKO’d by current champion Amanda Nunes little more than a year after losing her title via knockout to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015.
‘Rowdy’ has not yet officially announced her retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts.
