Ronda Rousey was in the right place, at the right time
With talks of former WWE women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey returning to mixed martial arts competition following a presumed exit from the world of professional wrestling, speculation about her future continues to mount.
Rousey, who fled to the WWE following back-to-back losses in the UFC, has been rumored to return to MMA, yet multiple sources state that the transition is not even on the radar.
While she has had a ton of success in the world of professional wrestling, the steam from Rousey’s venture there seems to be running out.
After capture a tag team world title with fellow MMA alum and lifelong friend Shayna Baszler, the script would eventually ask for the two to part ways.
Now with Rousey and Baszler set to face each other at SummerSlam, others in the know are weighing in on Rousey’s recent success.
Matt Riddle, a former UFC fighter turned WWE star, spoke on the WWE’s “The Bump” about the Baddest Woman on the Planet.
“We’ve all seen what has happened over the years. And you [The Bump’s guest Shayna Baszler] are right, Ronda, right place at the right time, we’re not going to take anything from her. But I know everything about that, if you are in the right place at the right time, you get pushed.
“When she came into mixed martial arts, right place, right time, right look, there you go. WWE [act like] you didn’t start WrestleMania, she did. Even though you were putting years of work in.”
