Sam Patterson excited to make his UFC debut at UFC 286
Sam Patterson will experience the biggest moment of his life at UFC 286 on March 18.
That night will mark Patterson’s UFC debut and Patterson is extremely excited to make his first walk to the octagon.
One of the best things about Patterson’s debut is the fact that he gets to do it at home as a short 45-minute train ride is all that separates Patterson’s hometown from the O2 Arena in London.
Patterson knows he’ll have a whole country behind him on fight night and he’s been visioning what it will be like to get his hand raised and celebrate in front of his home country.
While those visions are there for Patterson, don’t think that it means his overlooking his opponent Yanel Ashmoz as every time Patterson fights, he prepares for his toughest test to date and that’s what he’s expecting from Ashmoz.
The main focus for Patterson is his 15-minute contest at UFC 286, but since he’s fighting in the first quarter of 2023, he does have a few goals in mind for the year.
Patterson hopes to get three fights in this year and he definitely wants to bring home at least one performance bonus of an extra 50 thousand dollars.
Prior to UFC 286, Patterson spoke with MyMMANews about his excitement for his debut, his matchup with Ashmov and he also discussed the UFC main event as the world will witness the trilogy between welterweight champion Leon Edwards and former long-time champ Kamaru Usman.
