Sam Patterson Raring To Break Into World Title Picture With BRAVE CF 57 Win
A proud son of Watford, England will be looking to hoist the nation’s flag aloft in BRAVE Combat Federation’s first event of 2022.
Sam Patterson, also known as ‘The Future’, is set to square off with Khunkar-Pasha Osmaev of Russia on the supporting card of BRAVE CF 57, which will emanate from Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on Friday, March 11.
The 25-year-old Englishman has been undefeated since 2018, racking up seven-straight victories–with six coming by way of finish.
Most recently, Patterson elevated himself to a potential contender by submitting Kamil Magomedov in the second round with a guillotine choke at BRAVE CF 55 in November of last year.
Patterson’s rousing performance against Magomedov left a lasting impression on many of the luminaries in attendance for the event, and one of them is BRAVE CF President Mohammed “The Hawk” Shahid.
“Sam Patterson is indeed the future of this sport. It’s not just his moniker because he embodies every sense of the word. Look at his magnificent performance. It left us wanting more. I’m excited to see what the future holds for ‘The Future.’ With him being around, it just makes the promotion’s stacked lightweight division more interesting,” Shahid stated.
Patterson—who has been part of BRAVE CF since 2016 and has had six fights under the Bahrain-based promotion’s banner, believes that he has a business to settle with BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir as their first encounter in April 2019 ended in an anticlimactic draw.
But before he can dream of a World Title date with Amir, Patterson must undergo another detour and beat Osmaev in a decisive fashion on Friday.
Osmaev brings in a brand new test for Patterson, which he hasn’t seen in his young career. However, a victory over the Russian spitfire will certainly put him on a much higher pedestal that could pave the way for a rematch against Amir.
