Sean Strickland explains why he thinks ‘b***h’ Israel Adesanya will defeat Alex Pereira

Sean Strickland thinks Israel Adesanya will defend his middleweight title when he faces Alex Pereira.

After both Adesanya and Pereira won at UFC 276, it was clear the fight would be next. The two also have a history as they fought in kickboxing twice with Pereira winning both, including one by KO. However, for Strickland, who’s coming off a KO loss to Pereira at UFC 276, he thinks MMA is different and Adesanya will be able to outpoint the Brazilian.

“Let me tell you something, just cause you can fight doesn’t mean you’re not a b***h. Don’t forget that. Ask that to Izzy. Just cause you can fight, don’t mean you’re not a b***h. And I think Izzy’s gonna beat Alex,” Strickland said to The Schmo. “I think Izzy’s gonna stand there and Izzy’s gonna bounce around and outpoint Alex for five rounds and we’re all gonna say Izzy’s the best in the world. Doesn’t change the fact that he’s a b***h. He’s gonna float around and win but at the end of the day, no one remembers how you win, they just remember that you win. So even though he’s gonna f*****g dance around on his little twinkle toes, he’s still gonna win. I hope he doesn’t, but I still think he’s gonna win. F*****g Izzy.”

Israel Adesanya did open as the betting favorite over Alex Pereira, but there is no question many will likely pick the Brazilian given he did beat the champ in kickboxing. But, as Sean Strickland says, he thinks Adesanya is too technical in MMA and will be able to outpoint Pereira over five rounds to defend his belt.

Adesanya, as mentioned, is coming off the decision win over Jared Cannonier. He has currently defended the middleweight title five times while Alex Pereira is just 3-0 in the UFC and knocked out Strickland last time out.
