Sean Strickland talks upcoming fight and wanting to fight Israel Adesanya
Sean Strickland has a way words and he has a way of winning fights.
Strickland has become a household name for UFC fans due to his color responses to questions and with that big following and a lot of eyes on him, the UFC keeps booking Strickland for main events.
His next main event will come on July 1 at UFC Vegas 76 when he mets Abusupiyan Magomedov inside of the UFC Apex.
That matchup may not fans overly excited and Strickland admits that it should be in and former title challenger Paulo Costa fighting in that fight.
Either way, Strickland loves to fight and he loves to get paid so he has no problem going out and fighting whoever the UFC wants to put in front of him.
One thing he wants to see in the future is more bigger fights as he feels like most fighters ranked within the top seven middleweight contenders are trying to keep their rankings without taking risk.
Meanwhile, Strickland isn’t afraid of risk and that’s why he’s hoping to get a win on July 1 and then hope for a quick turnaround in September.
That September fight would be a UFC title shot against reigning champion Israel Adesanya as the UFC announced that Adesanya will make first title defense of his second middleweight title reign in September, but they haven’t announced who his opponent will be.
Part of that reason is because there are a lot of fights coming up within in the division and each winner will be jockeying for the spot.
Strickland has a history of getting under Adesanya’s skin and he made it clear that he absolutely wants a fight with the champ sometime soon.
Recently, MyMMANews stopped by Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas and caught up with Strickland for a brief few minutes before Strickland left to catch a flight.
In the interview, Strickland discussed his upcoming fight, his training at Xtreme Couture, his hopes for a title fight and his dislike for my pink Hugo Boss polo.
