Sean Strickland vs. Paulo Costa – UFC 302 Preview and Prediction

Sean Strickland and Paulo Costa will square off in the co-main event of UFC 302 this Saturday night.

The fight will feature a battle of two great personalities, but how good will the fight be?

Here’s an in depth look at the UFC 302 co-main event. The preview and prediction can also been seen in the video above.

Paulo Costa

Remember when Costa lost to Israel Adesanya and everyone was shocked how he just stood there and did nothing in that?

UFC president Dana White said after that fight that he didn’t know what happened to Costa in that fight because he normally went after guys like they owed him money.

Well Costa is going to need to do that in this fight. He cannot afford to sit back and be inactive.

Costa is big and strong and has the power to end this fight, but Strickland is a gamer and comes to fight every time he’s out there.

If Costa gets after Strickland, this fight will be interesting.

Sean Strickland

Strickland loves to fight and you can probably make the case that he works harder than anyone in the UFC.

Right now, Strickland can easily still be the middleweight champion as Dricus Du Plessis just about squeezed a split decision win over Strickland in January.

Strickland won’t care how big and strong Costa is. He’s going to come forward and throw a ton of punches with volume.

That volume may make the difference in this fight.

Oddmakers

They like Strickland in this matchup as they all have him as over a -200 betting favorite. Not really surprised considering he easily could still be the champion right now and is coming off back-to-back good outings.

Prediction

Costa is going to have to put his foot on the gas to bet Strickland. Can he do that is the question.

What we do know is, Strickland is going to come forward and use a lot of volume.

I’ll take what I know.

Prediction: Sean Strickland defeats Paulo Costa by unanimous decision
