Sergey Spivak outlasts Alexey Oleynik in decision win
Sergey Spivak made a claim for a top 15 ranking by defeating Alexey Oleynik via unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC on ESPN 25 this Saturday, June 19.
Oleynik controlled the fight on the ground in round one, but Spivak took over in rounds two and three. The 26-year-old remained composed and picked apart Oleynik on the feet.

Former title challenger, “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung meets rising contender Dan Ige in the main event on ESPN2 and ESPN+. A heavyweight clash between 15th ranked Alexey Oleynik and Sergey Spivak serves as the co-main event inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Oleynik is looking to stay in the top 15 after dropping back-to-back TKO losses to Chris Daukaus and Derrick Lewis. He previously won two consecutive bouts against Fabricio Werdum and Maurice Greene.
Spivak is climbing up the rankings after finishing Jared Vaneraa via second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 185 last February. He previously earned a majority decision against Carlos Felipe at UFC Fight Night 172 last July.
His last defeat is a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 169 in February.

Spivak lands some ground and pound. Oleynik is bleeding from his forehead. Spivak drops for an anaconda choke. Spivak transitions to a guillotine. Oleynik escapes and gains top position. Oleynik moves to mount. Oleynik goes for another anaconda, but Spivak is saved by the horn.
