Sergio Pettis vs. Ricky Bandejas pegged for Bellator return on July 24
A bantamweight bout between Sergio Pettis and Ricky Bandejas is the first known booking for Bellator’s return on July 24.
After five months of inactivity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bellator is headed to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. on July 24. First reported by Combate, Pettis and Bandejas will be a part of the promotion’s first event since Bellator 240 in Dublin, Ireland on Feb. 22.
Bellator is yet to make any official announcement regarding the July 24 card.
Sergio Pettis started 2020 with a first-round submission against Alfred Khashakyan in his promotional debut at Bellator 238 on Jan. 25. Pettis is on a two-fight win streak, including a unanimous decision nod against Tyson Nam at UFC on ESPN+17 this past September.
Bandejas will fight on the promotion’s first card back after competing on Bellator’s most recent card. He earned a second-round knockout against Frans Miambo back in February.
It marked two consecutive wins for the New Jersey native, who earned a first-round knockout against Ahmet Kayretli at Bellator 225 this past August.
Now training at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, Bandejas is 3-2 under the Bellator banner.
