Shane Burgos vs. Makwan Amirkhani added to UFC 244 at MSG
New York native Shane Burgos (12-1) will once again grace the center of the octagon while competing in front of a hometown crowd. “Hurricane” Burgos will meet Makwan Amirkhani (15-3) at UFC 244 on November 2 according to a report from Ryan Gerbosi of Newsday.
Burgos is riding a two-fight win streak including a split decision win over the hard-hitting Cub Swanson, and a submission win over Kurt Holobaugh at Madison Square Garden in November 2018.
The only blemish on Burgos’s résumé is a third round loss to Calvin Kattar in January 2018. He is currently 5-1 while competing under the Zuffa banner.
Amirkhani is 5-1 in the UFC dating back to an eight-second TKO of Andy Ogle in his promotional debut in January 2015. He most recently defeated Chris Fishgold with an anaconda choke in June. This will be Amirkhani’s first professional bout outside of Europe.
