Stamp Fairtex Keeps Focus on Family During COVID-19 Crisis
Stamp Fairtex is one of the most exciting martial artists in the world. Raised in a family of Muay Thai practitioners, training and competing has been a way of life for the young superstar since she was a small child.
With over 80 professional Muay Thai bouts under her belt, as well as the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title, she is used to frequent competition. Since the coronavirus pandemic has demanded a strong global response from people around the world, the Rayong, Thailand native is using her time to focus on family.
“During this time, I help my father paint the house – we just finished! We are also cooking at home as my grandparents are here. We also do some activities together like playing games, and singing karaoke at home,” says Stamp.
It’s not surprising that karaoke is a regular feature for Stamp during isolation. Iconic dance moves have become synonymous with the Thai star ever since she burst onto the scene in ONE Championship.
“Music and dance are important to me because they help me relax and make people remember me. I want everyone to recognize the ‘Stamp Dance’, whenever they’re talking about dancing. I’m very happy that everyone has responded well, making me want to find more dance music in the next fight for everyone to enjoy as well,” says Stamp.
Coming through the ranks as one of the major success stories on Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series (OWS), she became a viral sensation when she unleashed a masterful head kick knockout to win her mixed martial arts debut in just 19 seconds. It was here that the mixed martial arts community really began to take notice of the supremely-talented young striker.
“OWS is very important to me because without OWS, I wouldn’t have had the same success,” says Stamp.
Following that incredible performance, the notion that ONE had a star on its hands became solidified when her walkouts began to garner just as many views as her sensational performances in the ring.
Despite competition currently facing a pause because of the COVID-19 situation, Stamp is a natural entertainer and can’t wait to get back to doing what she does best.
“To show the best performance is most important to me. I’d like to make the audience enjoy everything about my matches – I want to show what I’ve learned and what I’ve improved on so far, in every fight,” says Stamp.
With such an acute sense of others’ enjoyment and well-being, this gifted young woman is an athlete with a huge heart, and is keen to ensure her fans are in good health during these adverse circumstances.
“I’d like to ask everyone to take good care of yourselves and people around you, and please stay safe and always protected wherever you go,” says Stamp.
