Stephanie Egger discusses her UFC Vegas 38 victory
Stephanie Egger had a much different experience in her second UFC fight than she did in her first one.
Egger debuted in the UFC in October of 2020 by taking a short notice fight against Tracy Cortez in which the Swiss fighter found herself on the losing end of a unanimous decision.
Then earlier this month, nearly one year after her debut, Egger returned to the octagon at UFC Vegas 38 in a bantamweight match up against Shanna Young.
The lead up to Egger’s UFC Vegas 38 fight was completely different than her deubt as this time she actually had time to prepare and go through a full training camp for the fight. That full camp made a huge difference.
In the fight with Young, Egger was able to get herself into a great position in the second round in which she was on top of Young. From that position, Egger landed a huge elbow that rocked Young and right after the elbow landed, the referee stopped the fight to give Egger her first career UFC win.
Following the victory, Egger spoke with MyMMANews about her performance, the benefits of having a full training camp and wanting to stay active.
You can watch her full interview in the video above.
