Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier

Stipe Miocic: “This fight is going to be amazing”

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic speaks fast, very fast. In the build-up to his fight against light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, Miocic was humble about the opportunity for this fight.

“D.C. has fought the best on the road and he’s beat the best in the road,” Miocic stated during today’s UFC 226 media conference call.

“He’s an amazing fighter. This fight is going to be amazing. I’m super excited for the whole matchup,” he continued.

Miocic has always been known to be amped for any of his fights and knows that the most important fight is always the one right in front of him. When asked about a possible matchup against Brock Lesnar, Miocic merely acknowledged the potential.

“It is what it is,” Miocic stated, eager to get back on the Cormier fight.

Besides the task at hand, dethroning Cormier, Miocic touched on life as a father, LeBron’s future in Cleveland and his plans after the fight. That plan includes taking a break to enjoy fatherhood. So, for those fans eager to see a Lesnar-Miocic fight, the wait could be longer-than-expected. Also, was it really a question? Of course he wants LeBron to stay in Cleveland.

Still, in his same manner, Miocic quickly turned the focus back on the Cormier fight.

“Daniel is going to come in and try to beat me up, and I’m going to try to beat him up,” Miocic said

“D.C. is definitely going to come out and bring it.”
