Dana White likes champions superfight – Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier
UFC President Dana White recapped UFC 220 with Megan Olivi from Boston’s TD Garden. During the discussion the UFC frontman discussed the possibility of a superfight between heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
In speaking about Cormier, White said:
“He doesn’t like to jump up to heavyweight because of his relationship with Cain Velasquez but he can go and fight and if Cain comes back he can walk away from the belt if that is what he chose to do or whatever. But, I think that Stipe and Daniel is a fun fight.”
Will we see Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier in the octagon in 2018?
It is still too early to tell if this is the next fight to make but in the age of putting on superfights to increase pay-per-view buys, the scenario is highly likely.
Cormier successfully defended his title against Volkan Oezdemir with a second round TKO victory on January 20 in Boston. Miocic went the full five rounds with challenger Francis Ngannou on the same card.
