Suman Mokhtarian, former UFC fighter, shot and killed
Former UFC fighter Suman Mokhtarian, 33, was shot and killed on Wednesday in Riverstone, New South Wales.
According to police, Mokhtarian was killed shortly after 6 p.m. local time, after being shot in the upper torso. Paramedics tried to revive the professional mixed martial artist on scene but were unsuccessful.
Police are still in search of the gunman and said they believe the attack was targeted. Last year, a gunman attempted to kill Mokhtarian outside the Australian Top Team gym.
Mokhtarian held a professional mixed martial arts record of 8-2 and exited the UFC in 2019 after dropping two bouts in a row and an exhibition on the Ultimate Fighter Season 27.
