Tahar Hadbi to meet Mohammad Fakhreddine in clash of top Welterweights at Brave 9
Tahar Hadbi looks to go into title contention at Welterweight as he takes on Lebanon’s Mohammad Fakhreddine in a main card bout scheduled for Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions. The event is set for November 17th at Khalifa Sports City as Brave Combat Federation makes its much-awaited return to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Frenchman Hadbi started off his Brave career with a controversial No Contest against England’s Carl Booth in the main event of Brave 5: Go For Glory, in India. He hopes a win over another top Welterweight in Fakhreddine will be enough to warrant a title shot against newly-crowned 77 kg. champion Carlston Harris.
Hadbi will have a tough challenge as Fakhreddine looks to rebuild after dropping out of a title fight against Booth in August. He fell ill during the weight cut for Brave 8: The Rise of Champions and was replaced by Carlston Harris who claimed the belt in a grueling five-round battle against “Bomber” Booth. The Lebanese phenom boasts a 10-1 record and has two TKO wins in two outings for Brave Combat Federation.
Hadbi vs. Fakhreddine is the second bout confirmed for Brave 9 after a title fight between Featherweight champion Elias Boudegzdame and challenger Lucas “Mineiro” Martins was recently announced.
Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions marks the promotion’s first card in Bahrain since last year. During 2017, Brave Combat Federation expanded its operations, holding groundbreaking events in Brazil (twice), Mexico, India, Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates. The November 17th show will be the culmination of the International Fight Week, alongside the IMMAF World Championships, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
