Talita Alencar talks how jiu jitsu saved her life and her upcoming MMA fight with Titan FC
Talita Alencar on the outside looks like a sweet, pretty lady, but she’ll be the first to tell you to not let her smile full you.
When she was a kid growing up in Brazil, Alencar found herself having a tough upbringing and constantly getting into fights. Then one day, she found jiu jitsu, fell love with it and credits jiu jitsu to saving her life.
Jiu jitsu not only gave her a way of taking out her anger, but it opened up a number of great avenues for her as well as she went on to win six world champions in jiu jitsu and now is competing in MMA.
Last year she made her MMA debut in July at Titan FC 70 and she looked fantastic in her first MMA outing as she went on to pick up a first-round submission win over Staci Vega.
Since that fight, Alencar has been trying to get back inside the cage, but hasn’t had any luck in finding an opponent. Now after being sidelined for a few months, the wait for an opponent appears to be over.
Alencar is set to compete at Titan FC 74 on Feb. 18. As of right now the promotion has not officially announced her opponent, but Alencar told MyMMANews that she was told the opponent’s name and she is preparing for her skill set in training right now. The promotion is expected to announce the fight in the coming days.
Prior to her next fight, Alencar spoke to MyMMANews about her background in jiu jitsu, her transition into MMA, hoping to be in the UFC one day and training at American Combat Gym in south Florida.
