Tamika Jones, pro MMA fighter, passes away at age 34
Tamika Jones, a professional mixed martial artist who last competed for Invicta Fighting Championship, has died at age 34 after sustaining injuries in automobile accident on Nov. 10.
Jones worked for Allied Barton Security and Amazon, and had a pro MMA record of 1-1, last competing at Invicta FC 45 in January 2022. She lost that contest against Katie Saull by way of armbar submission in the first round.
“I really don’t have the words for this one,” said professional fighter, friend, and training partner, Alexa Conners in a social media post. “Me and Tamika Jones go back to the beginning of my mma career. She was my main training partner for the longest time at Sor Sumrit Muay Thai. We actually randomly both ended up together training at Syndicate MMA in Vegas. Having her as my friend and teammate is something I will forever cherish. She loved everyone. It didn’t matter who you were, you were instantly family. I’m going to miss the jokes and laughs. I’m going to miss her running into practice because she’s late and giving that smirk coming through the door lol (yall know what I’m talking about). I love you sis. And damn, I miss you already. Fly high Meeks 🫶🏼.”
