Tanner Boser knocks out Philipe Lins inside one round

Heavyweights Tanner Boser (17-6-1) and Philipe Lins (14-4) traded shots in the center of the octagon tonight in the third fight on the UFC on ESPN 12 card in Las Vegas.  It was a short-lived fight as Lins failed to check any of the kicks that Boser threw, then got caught early on, stunned with a combo of punches, and fell backwards before referee Herb Dean had to rush in and pull Boser away.

Following the impressive knockout victory, Boser said that he is still fresh and called out fellow heavyweight Maurice Greene for one of the upcoming cards on Fight Island.  With the finish, Boser moves to 18-6-1.

The Canadian, Tanner Boser, entered the octagon with both one win, and one loss under the UFC banner.  In his debut in October 2019, Boser earned a unanimous decision victory over Daniel Spitz.  He then returned two months later, only to drop a decision to Ciryl Gane.  “The Bulldozer” will be looking to dominate tonight in Las Vegas in hopes of remaining on the promotion’s roster.

Lins, a native of Brazil, was put to the test back in May when he made his debut, squaring off against former UFC heavyweight champion Andre Arlovski.  While Lins did not have his hand raised that night, he is still a very dangerous threat to the heavyweight division.  The American Top Team fighter went undefeated with the PFL, earning wins over former UFC fighters Jared Rosholt, Josh Copeland, and Alex Nicholson.

With the loss tonight Lins falls to 0-2 inside the octagon.
