Tatiana Suarez picks up submission win over Montana De La Rosa in return at UFC Vegas 70
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to us tonight, February 25, 2023, for UFC Vegas 70, going down live from the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada.
Headlining the event was a light-heavyweight bout between a pair of dangerous finishers in no. 6 ranked Nikita Krylov (29-9) and no. 8 ranked Ryan Spann (21-7).
Co-headlining the event is a middleweight showdown between Andre Muniz (23-4) and Brendan Allen (20-5).
Our second bout on the main card tonight showcased the return of The Ultimate Fighter 23 winner Tatiana Suarez (8-0), a two-time World Championships medalist in freestyle wrestling. This was her first fight in nearly four years, as she hadn’t competed since June of 2019 at UFC 238.
To put this into perspective, that was the same night Henry Cejudo won the vacant UFC bantamweight championship against Marlon Moraes not long after TJ Dillashaw was suspended. Dillashaw has returned and retired since then.
Suarez faced well rounded talent Montana De La Rosa (12-7-1) tonight, who’d fought a whopping six times since her last fight.

Official Result: Tatiana Suarez def. Montana De La Rosa via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:51 of round two
Suarez is able to tie up with De La Rosa early. De La Rosa gets the stronger hold and nearly takes Suarez down, before Suarez readjusts and takes her down ending up in top position. She’s able to remain on top for the next couple minutes, and when they’re back to their feet she’s able to press De La Rosa into the fence.
Suarez ties up with De La Rosa once again to start the second and lands a beautiful head throw.
Though De La Rosa is able get up not long thereafter, Suarez keeps ahold of her and performs a perfect snap down to front headlock, where she then jumps guard for a guillotine choke. She doesn’t immediately get it, she had to use some energy to secure the finish, but eventually De La Rosa is forced to tap.
Tatiana Suarez is back in a BIG way with the second-round submission win at #UFCVegas70. 💥💪🏼
