Teila Tuli, UFC 1 fighter, dead at 56
Teila Tuli, who competed at the very first Ultimate Fighting Championship event on Nov. 12, 1993, has died at age 56.
Gerard Gordeau defeated Tuli by way of head kick just 26-seconds into their fight. The contest was the only professional mixed martial arts bout on Tuli’s record.
He later changed his name to Taylor Wily and became an actor starring in shows such as Hawaii Five-O and films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
