The Golden Cage comes to UFC Fight Pass
Rome, Italy: This Saturday, February 6th, sees the UFC FIGHT PASS debut of Italian mixed martial arts promotion The Golden Cage in what is the beginning of a multi-event deal with the world’s leading streaming service for combat sports.
TGC III will take place in a studio setting at the Heaven Fight Arena in Rome, Italy, and will feature a host of the regions top rising talent, UFC hopefuls, and veterans. Start time is 6pm local (12pm EST/9am PST) and serves as the perfect appetizer for fight fans ahead of UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Volkov on Saturday.
In the main event of TGC III the inaugural welterweight champion will be crowned when local rivals Leonardo Damiani (9-2-1) and Marco Saccaro (6-2) meet in a rematch of their 2018 contest (pictured above).
Damiani, who won their first bout, comes into this off the back of a busy end to 2020 winning fights in Dubai in November and then Cage Warriors in December. While the always dangerous Saccaro, who has won four of six pro victories via first round TKO/KO, will aim to get revenge and use Damiani to springboard his own career.
In the co-main event two top undefeated welterweight prospects clash as Wisem Hammami (4-0) faces Franc Agalliu (3-0) and the inaugural featherweight title is up for grabs when Michele Baiano (3-0) takes on Nizar Ben Amara (4-0).
Also on the card, UFC veteran Danilo Belluardo (12-6) will aim to get back to winning ways on his return to home soil when he faces tricky veteran Croatian fighter Dragan Pesic (18-22) and there is a high-level match-up between Russia’s Greg Shestakov (7-1) and Italy’s Walter Cogliandro (9-1-1) in the lightweight division.
Altogether, there will be ten pro fights on UFC FIGHT PASS and then earlier in the day there will be an IMMAF-style non-televised amateur card.
