Thiago Moises wins a close decision over Bobby Green
Thiago Moises cut up Bobby Green on his way to a unanimous decision win at UFC on ESPN+ 39 on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Moises derailed a surging Green, who came into the bout with three-straight wins in 2020.

The UFC returns to the United States on Halloween night at UFC on ESPN+ 39, Saturday, Oct. 31.
Anderson Silva makes his final walk to the octagon in a middleweight headliner against Uriah Hall at the UFC in Las Vegas, Nevada. The co-main event is a featherweight clash between two exciting contenders in Bryce Mitchell and Andre Fili.
The main card got started with a lightweight bout between UFC veteran Bobby Green and Thiago Moises.
Green (27-10) came into the bout riding a three-fight winning streak with victories over Clay Guida, Lando Vannata and Alan Patrick. All three of those wins have come in the second half of 2020.
Moises (13-4) earned a UFC contract in 2018 on Dana White’s Contender Series. Since getting into the promotion, he’s flip-flopped wins and losses posting a 2-2 record.
When the two squared off on Halloween night, they fought three close rounds with both showcasing their skills in a fight that was very tough to judge.

Round 1
Moises using the legs early on. First two strikes were kicks. Throughout the first minute, Moises has been busy. Green changes his stance after eating a few heavy leg kicks.
Moises shoots in for a takedown. He eventually picks up Green and slams him to the canvas. Green stays clam and works his way back to the feet and the round is halfway over.
Green lands a straight right hand and moments later he lands a one-two combo two the body.
Following a good series from Green, Moises lands a heavy shot of his own. The two exchange some shots in the final minute. Green looked good in the second half or the round, while Moises won the first half of it. I think the Moises takedown may give him that round.

Round 2
Moises swings for the fences and misses to open up the second round. Green connects with a nice right hand and briefly buckles Moises. Green gets a takedown just a little over a minute into the round. Moises gets back to the feet easily and Moises flips Green around gets a takedown. Once securing the takedown, Moises tries for a heel hook and kept Green in a tough position for awhile. Eventually Green works his way out of it and gets back to his feet. As soon as they get up, Green is bleeding from the top of his nose. Green is using leg kicks of his own and he also gets a nice need to the body as well. Moises lands a nice right hand in the final minute of the round. Another competitive and close round. Green definitely wins the stand up, but Moises submission attempt was nice and he had Green in a dangerous spot.

Round 3
Green’s corner says they need this round and Green is throwing hard straight shots to start the round. Moises is having brief moments, but Green is winning the stand up and he’s been winning the stand up this whole fight. Halfway through the round and it’s the same story. Moises is throwing hard but not really land. In fact, Green has out landed Moises the whole fight. Green tries for a takedown with under two minutes to go and Moises reserves and gets Green down. Moises is able to control Green on the ground for nearly a minutes before Green gets back to the feet. The two trade shots and in the final seconds and we got to the scorecards. This fight was close and tough one to score. Great fight and great effort by both men.
