Third Time Is a Charm: Ron Stallings Steps Up To Fight Uriah Hall This Sunday
Uriah Hall (9-4) was scheduled to fight Costas Phillipou this Sunday in UFC Fight Night in Boston. Phillipou had to pull out due to injury. Enter Louis Taylor, a contract to make his UFC debut on short notice, an opportunity to fight in the premier league of mixed martial arts. Taylor had to pull out due to injury, and there went the contract, with the UFC terminating it.
With just one week from fight night, it looked as if Uriah Hall would be left high and dry with no opponent.
Enter Ron “The Choir Boy” Stallings.
Ron Stallings (12-6, 1 NC) took the fight on one week’s notice. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for any professional fighter. This is what it is all about, to fight in the UFC. Stallings steps into a “win-win” situation. A win will potentially earn him a contract with the UFC. A loss? Well the UFC would have respect for a fighter stepping up to face a dangerous fighter like Hall in such short notice.
Stallings has finished all 12 of his wins with six TKO/KO’s and six submissions. He has fought for big promotions such as Strikeforce and CFFC, with his last fight a decision loss to Tim “The South Jersey Strangler” Williams.
