Titan FC 52 results – Soares vs. Urugai
Tonight’s Titan FC 52 fight card which will be streamed live exclusively on the UFC’s digital streaming service, UFC Fight Pass from Xtreme Action Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“The Speciman” Jason Soares defended the Titan FC featherweight title for the very first time when he meets challenger, Caio Uruguai. Soares, undefeated at a 11-0, won the title in April with a rear-naked choke over Luis Gomez. Caio Uruguai, 7-1, is coming off a win over Juan Villaseca, also on that April Titan FC 49 fight card.
The vacant bantamweight title was on the line when Edir Terry and Rudson Caliocane met in the evening’s co-main event. When former champion Jose “Shorty” Torres was signed to the UFC earlier this year the title was vacated. Caliocane, 6-1, is new to the Titan organization. The Brazilian mixed martial artist is riding a six-fight win streak. Terry, 6-2, has one win and one loss with Titan. His most recent, a victory over Irwin Rivera in Febraury.
Raymond Ramos kicked off the card with a triangle choke submission victory. Alberto Blas had a rear-naked choke on Ramos, but he was able to escape and works the triangle off his back.

Hugo Cuhna gets a big second round TKO over Marino Eatman during their heavyweight bout.
Luis Gomez gets Ramon Martinez down to the canvas with a throw. Martinez has a cut open up on the top of his head and blood begins to gush. Martinez turns to his knees and Gomez unleashes strikes to win by way of technical knockout in the very first round.
Christian Torres is cut early in his fight against Djorden Santos. Very close first round but Santos might get the nod because of the cut and because he secured a takedown in the round. Torres come to life in the second round, finding a home for his strikes, but needs to get his combinations going to be more effective. Santos gets an early takedown to start round three. Torres lands a much needed combo. Torres throws a big head kick that sticks. Santos started to get wobbled. This is an exhausting, razor-thin fight. Torres wins a unanimous decision.
Tilek Mashrapov and Leandro Silva felt each other out most of the opening minutes of the first round. Few power kicks to the body by each competitor. Very close round. Mashrapov may have landed the more crisp punches but nothing too significant. Silva has a cut above his right eye that his corner is tending to between round. Mashrapov’s hands come to life in the second round, lighting Silva up on the feet. Silva grabs Mashrapov in a Thai clinch and hurts him with a knee. Mashrapov backs up against the cage and Silva takes the fight to him, dropping his opponent as the referee steps in. HUGE comeback win for Leandro Silva.

Gustavo Balart and Wascar Cruz had their fight delayed as the UFC Fight Pass stream sustained a few minor technical difficulties that would cause a break in the action. Once back underway, Balart scored a first round KO victory early in the fight.

The vacant Titan FC bantamweight title was on the line in the night’s co-main event. Rudson Caliocane and Edir Terry went all five rounds in a fight that started with no glove touch. No love lost here between these competitors. Caliocane becomes more aggressive in round two and starts to take control of the fight. This was an absolute war, the type of fight you like to see when a championship is on the line.
In the main event, featherweight champion Jason Soares successfully defends his title with a big knockout victory over challenge Caio Urugai. The timeliness of the stoppage by the referee was questionable and as a result, chaos breaks out after the fight is over. A punch was thrown at a cornerman and a woman has rushed the cage. Urugai took a few shots too many and his corner is livid.
