Tony Ferguson sets sights on Conor McGregor following UFC 274 loss
Tony Ferguson is not sitting and wallowing in his loss, instead, he is already campaigning for his next fight.
Coming into UFC 274, Ferguson was riding a three-fight losing streak. At one time Ferguson was one of the best fighters in the UFC lightweight division, he was holding the interim title until a freak injury led the organization to strip him of the title. Despite the unlucky turn of events, and the lack of a win in the last two years, Ferguson is not ready to call it a career, not yet.
“Congratulations to @MikeChandlerMMA On his victory at UFC274. Had lots of fun in there, you fans are Fuckin’ wild I love this shit! Feels good to be back & hungry again. We were just getting started. Best Of Luck In Your Next Fight- Champ # ForTheLoveOfTheGame -CSO-,” Ferguson wrote on Twitter following UFC 274.
Ferguson stated that he was happy to be fighting and that retirement will have to wait. Now just a few days removed from his latest loss, Ferguson is looking to secure his next Octagon dance partner, none other than Conor McGregor. McGregor threw some shade Ferguson’s way following his loss, but “El Cucuy” didn’t let it slide by.

This pursuit of McGregor has been a trend with Ferguson over the past couple of years. It is no secret that a fight with Conor McGregor is a big money fight. This is a bout that could very well take place. With Ferguson’s high-profile name and losing record, it makes him a favorable opponent for McGregor, who most likely has his choice of next fight details. McGregor has also thrown his name in the hat for the next title fight as well. It seems that the ball is in McGregor’s court at this point in time.
