Tonya Evinger faces Marion Reneau at return to bantamweight
Former UFC featherweight title contender and Invicta Fighting Championship’s bantamweight title holder, Tonya Evinger, will return back to the 135-pound division when she competes in her second fight in the UFC.
Evinger, a native of Texas, will compete in her home state when she meets Marion Reneau at Frank Erwin Center in Austin on Feb. 18, 2018.
“Triple Threat” Evinger (19-6) is coming off a July 2017, third round TKO loss to Cris Cyborg at UFC 214. The loss came in a fight for the then vacant UFC women’s featherweight title and it was Evinger’s first loss since July 2011.
Reneau (8-3-1) recorded a third round TKO win over Talita Bernardo at UFC Fight Night 115 in September. Her last loss was to Ashlee Evans-Smith in February 2016.
Tickets for the card go on sale on Jan. 5. FS1 will televise the fight card that is headlined by a welterweight bout between Yancy Medeiros and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone.
