Triton Fights 1 Weigh-in Results: John Gotti vs Anthony Wolter

Thursday night the Triton Fights 1 weigh-ins began at 6 p.m. at The Space at Westbury. Twenty fighters weighed in for the ten bouts taking place tonight, Friday, February 24. The main event of the evening is between welterweights John Gotti (4-1) and Anthony Wolter (1-0-1). In the co-main event, Destiny Quinones (3-8) takes on boxing specialist, Jennifer Dugwen (0-0).

John Gotti of Panza MMA/LIMMA, is a powerful striker on a three-fight win streak. Gotti seeks his fifth victory against a very game opponent, Anthony Wolter. Wolter is a BJJ Black belt, whom also possesses a strong background in striking. This main event title fight has only one possible outcome, Fireworks!

Dugwen and Quinones are scraping inside the cage under novice amateur rules. Quinones has fought eleven times in MMA, but her opponent hasn’t yet fought an MMA bout. Dugwen is a former Rio Olympics boxing hopeful. Fans are eager to see this rematch of two women with excellent MMA skills (they fought three years ago in a Kickboxing bout) battle in a three-minute round, three round bout.

A feature fight fans should also keep their eyes on is a possible welterweight contender bout between Russell Pititto and Austin Wolfson. Pititto (2-0) seeks his opportunity to fight for a Triton Fights title with a victory against Bellmore Kickboxing’s Wolfson (4-0). Wolfson, a contender for the welterweight title will have to stuff the takedowns of Pititto in order to keep his unblemished record. This bout easily has the potential for Fight of the Night honors.

Johnny Pierro of UFC Gym- Staten Island, showed true dedication at the weigh-ins Thursday night when he came in just a tad over-weight and shaved his hair off to make the weight cut.

Fights start promptly at 7 p.m. and the doors swing open at an hour before the starting fight time. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased at Tritonfights.com. Be sure to follow us for
