Triumphant 10 recap: Three new titles crowned in one night
Triumphant Muay Thai Series: Triumphant 10 went down on Saturday, March 13 in the beautiful outside weather of Rosarito Beach, Mexico.
With 3 championships on the line, Triumphant 10 went down on FITE.TV and didn’t disappoint with an absolute stacked evening of Muay Thai.
In the main event of the evening, two of North America’s top strikers will face off for Triumphant middleweight championship. Richard “Maximus” Abraham, who is well known and appreciated for his aggression and hart hitting style is a Glory veteran with plenty of Thai experience. Abraham has competed all across the globe at the top level of his weight class.
California’s own, “Silk E Smooth” Eddie Abasolo has also competed with some of Muay Thai’s best. Known for his technical style fused with his swagger, The WBC national Muay Thai champ, Abasolo turns the switch when he needs to.
In the co-main event of the evening, Philadelphia’s, Ahmad “The Palestinian Golden Boy” returned to the ring take on Mexico’s own, hard-hitting, Edgar Juarez Tabaras for the Triumphant 125lb strap.
The Triumphant super middleweight championship was up for grabs when Richard Cruz steps in to take on Zach Bunnell for Triumphant’s super middleweight championship.

Main Event: Triumphant Middleweight Title
Eddie “Silk E Smooth” Abasolo defeats Richard “Maximus” Abraham via unanimous decision.

Round 1:
Abasolo started the contest feeling his opponent out, finding his range with his legs. Abasolo used the feeling out process to strike first, firing a leg kick on Abraham. Abraham took his time to comfortable in getting to know his opponent, feeling him out until both fighters begin trading kicks, mixing it up to the body and legs. Abraham catches a leg and throws his punches with intention, looking to end the bout early. Abraham clinches momentarily. Abasolo stays active from a range, firing leg kicks of his own. Abraham continues to find openings, swinging with ill will.
Round 2:
Abraham comes out aggressive early on with his hard punches upstairs. Abasolo picks his pace up utilizing his kicks. Abraham stays heavy on his punches but can’t find much success at the moment. The fighters clingy and Abasolo dumps Abraham. Abasolo is beautifully using his range to throw kicks from outside, scoring and keeping his opponent at bay. Abraham blitzes forward with Abasolo on the ropes. Huge elbows on the inside as Abraham is looking to get the momentum rolling in his favor. Abasolo steps in with his own hard elbow to even the score. Abraham again blitzes forward with a punch combo that slightly grazes Abasolo, as he gets pinned into the corner to close the round
Round 3:
Abasolo steps in for an elbow early. Abasolo continues his efforts utilizing his technical, swift kicks while Abraham is relying on his heavy punches to get inside. Abasolo is comfortable staying on the outside, forcing Abraham to miss while he picks his own strikes. Both fighters mix it up with their punches and utilization of the clinch. Abasolo sees openings for his heavy right hand and begins to take it. Abraham returns fire to finish the round with devastating punches.
Round 4:
Both fighters begin this round technically trading. Abasolo is the aggressor early on with his long kicks from the outside. Abraham works his way into the clinch to work on the inside, in close quarters. The fighters split and Abraham is piecing together his heavy hands, landing to the head and body. Abasolo, still successful from afar, keep in distance with his long legs. The fighter’s trade leg kicks when Abasolo charges forward with slick punches and elbows upstairs to keep Abraham guessing. They keep their foot on the gas with aggression, back and forth for the round. With one round left in the bout, this is shaping up to be an amazing main event.
Round 5:
The final round begins and both fighter’s trade kicks early in the round. The momentum of the fight changes as both fighters begin trading punches, briefly. Abasolo gets back to a comfortable position on the outside where he gets back to picking his shots. Abraham, suspecting he may be behind, increases his ferocity. leading with the jab, Abraham fires ill-intentioned right hands down the center like pistons. Abasolo continues to score and avoid damage as the final bell sounds.

Co-Main Event: Triumphant 125lb championship
Edgar Antonio Juarez Tabares defeats Ahmad Ibrahim via a unanimous decision.

Round 1:
A slight feeling out process gets this bout underway. Juarez walks Ibrahim down. Ibrahim is heavy on the kicks from the gate. Juarez catches a kick and attempts the sweep. Ibrahim stays on his feet as if he’s in the Matrix, utilizing the ropes to maintain balance. They work their way into a clinch where they were fairly even. Taking turns reversing the other, the referee sees enough and breaks them up. Ibrahim resumes, timing Juarez with his beautiful kicks. Ibrahim continues to find success early with his kicks., forcing Juarez to second guess committing. Juarez is steadfast in utilizing his boxing as Ahmad predicted. In the closing seconds, Ibrahim attempts a sweep but is swept in return.
Round 2
The round begins and the fighters quickly return to working in the pocket in the center of the ring. An early clinch with short knees from Ibrahim gets reversed as both fighters continue turning the other, matching the other fighter in strength while inside of the clinch. The clinch gets a bit pushy back and forth and both fighters crash onto the canvas. Ibrahim stays on the outside and kicks to the body and head. Juarez sets up his punches with his leg kicks to work inside. Ibrahim fires elbows upstairs and chaos ensues as the fighters trade back and forth inside. Juarez is picking up Ibrahim’s kicks are getting him ahead and is fighting with a sense of rushing urgency and an unfortunate low blow to end of the round.
Round 3:
Both fighters get right back to work inside of the clinch. They successfully trade knees on the inside. Ibrahim retreats to the center of the ring. Both fighters land brutalizing leg kicks from the other. Ibrahim is continuous with his assault on the left body kicks followed by some crisp straights down the pipe for both. Juarez begins stringing together leg kicks, seemingly forcing Ahmad to second guess his game. Ibrahim moving forward utilizing the clinch for elbows and knees while Juarez works on Ibrahim’s legs.
Round 4:
Ibrahim catches a kick and sweeps Juarez to start the round. They meet in a clinch where they trade punches upstairs. Juarez manages to throw Ibrahim to the ground. Ibrahim returns the favor immediately with a dump of his own to his opponent. They work into the clinch again where Ibrahim embraces the elbows. Juarez gets back to punches, working his crisp boxing. As the round begins to fade, Ibrahim clinches while firing knees against ropes. Juarez takes flight, landing a flying knee. Juarez closes the round working on Ibrahim’s legs.
Round 5:
Juarez comes forward blasting punches. Both fighters get to work trading kicks. Ibrahim clinches with knees landing inside. Juarez remains heavy with punches to work his way inside. Juarez finds comfort with his punches thrown in bunches. Ibrahim lets his kicks fly in the final moments. Both fighters feeling a sense of urgency as the final round continues. Juarez looks for the jumping knee again while Ibrahim clinches and trips Juarez in return.

Triumphant Super Middleweight Title: Zach Bunnell defeats Richard Cruz via 4th round TKO (leg kicks)
Round 1:
A feeling out process starts this bout. Both fighters exchange leg kicks. Bunnell opens his hands up, unleashing some combinations. Cruz is keeping his range and staying aware of the distance. Bunnell is touching with leg kicks to continue feeling Cruz out. Bunnell drills a hard body kick that’s returned with a left hook from Cruz. Very little happening thus far in the opening stanza. With five rounds in this title bout, these fighters seemed to utilize the opening round to feel their foe out.
Round 2:
Bunnell opens up with a heavy punch combination. Cruz is doing a good job on the outside, effectively counter striking. Cruz fires a kick that Bunnell catches and sweeps. Cruz jumps back up to his feet and into the fight. Bunnell is getting the better of Cruz’s range with his brutalizing leg kicks and straight punches penetrating Cruz’s defense and finding their mark. Bunnell seeming to gain ground as the round draws to a close.
Round 3:
Cruz opens this round lighter on his feet. He’s pumping quick leg kicks and moving, avoiding damage early. Bunnell begins throwing with a bit more intention and aggression. Cruz blitzes into an attack, landing a jumping elbow and cutting the top of Bunnell’s head. Bunnell seemingly feels nothing and continues with the ferocity. Cruz sees the blood and begins to turn his volume up. However, Bunnell returns to his thunderous leg kicks, hurting Cruz badly with leg kicks to close the round.
Round 4:
Bunnell picks up where he left off on the attack. Cruz is attempting to throw from the outside but is clearly still hurt and fading. Bunnell continues the strategic attack, beautifully setting up his chopping leg kicks with his punches. The leg kicks prove to be too much for Cruz as Bunnell stays the course, attacking the legs until Cruz couldn’t withstand the pain or pressure any longer.
Winner: Zach Bunnell
