Tyson Fury training with Nick Diaz – Preparing for mixed rules bout against Ngannou?

Tyson Fury is arguably one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.  The recently retired fan-favorite is coming off a brutal knockout win over Dillian Whyte just last month, but has his sights set on the future.

What that future holds for the WBC heavyweight champion is still up in the air, but following the in over Whyte, Fury was joined in the ring by current UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou, currently sitting on the shelf while contract negotiations with the UFC work themselves out, would like to test his boxing abilities against Fury.

UFC President Dana White has opposed the opportunity citing that no matter how good Ngannou is in the octagon, boxing is Fury’s world.

That’s when Fury’s friend, and UFC heavyweight, Tom Aspinall suggested a mixed rules contest. The bout, similar to the one that ONE Championship held with MMA star Demetrious Johnson and Muay Thai sensation Rodtang Jitmuangnon, could be a collaboration of multiple combat sports.

Possibly in preparation for such a contest, Fury recently trained with UFC star Nick Diaz at Warriors Boxing Gym.

Diaz posted photos to his Instagram account and Fury replied, “nice bit of rolling around the mat.”

Diaz also took advantage of the training session, taking in a few tips from The Gypsy King himself.

Diaz is hoping to return in 2022 and has his eyes set on Kamaru Usman.

“We’re working on end of the year. I’m just focused on my training right now,” Diaz told TMZ Sports. “If I’m going to fight, I want to fight for the title. … They want to say that I want to fight a bunch of guys and stuff like that. Well, you know what? It’s a bigger fight. Just skip all the mess. I don’t need to go in there and get my ass whooped by one of the young guys, anyway – and it’s not that I won’t win. It’s just not motivating to fight somebody that’s – I want to fight for the title. I’m 38 years old.”

If Diaz does get the title shot, he is confident he would defeat Usman and become the champ.

“I think I’ll beat him,” Diaz says.

Do you think a superfight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will go down?  If so, under what rules?  How do you see it playing out?
