Tyson Fury vs. Francis N’Gannou: The Details

The Tyson Fury vs. Francis N’Gannou super fight will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the 28th of October. The Saudis have been pushing hard for a heavyweight mega card including Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua in some combination. It is unclear if any of these others will be on the card. Both Usyk and Joshua have fights booked. But with enough Saudi money things can be shifted around.

According to a press release, “under the official rules of professional boxing, with 3 judges ringside adopting the 10-point must system. Both fighters however are promising to meet in the middle of the ring, go to war and win by knockout in devastating fashion.”

The exact details of the fight are not yet published. The rounds, time, exhibition or not, and other details are not yet known.

Boxing vs. MMA has been an obsession for decades. From the bout between Muhammad Ali and Antonio Inoki in 1976 to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor in 2017, there have been a handful of crossover fights. Clay Collard has had the most success in boxing. Boxing champion Claressa Shields has been the only boxer to come to the other time in the last few years, going 1-1 in PFL.

The most even fight was when Artem Lobov defeated boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi in BKFC, a fight Lobov won via decision.
