UFC 249 results: Francis N’Gannou puts Jairzinho Rozenstruik down with left hook
UFC fights are back.
On Saturday night, May 9, UFC 249 takes place in Jacksonville, Fla. following a two-month hiatus for the promotion.
Inside an empty Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the card features two championship bouts. Interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson defends his belt against Justin Gaethje in the main event.
In the co-main event, bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo is up against Dominick Cruz, who returns to the octagon following a four-year layoff.
In a heavyweight clash, Francis N’Gannou welcomes Jairzinho Rozenstruik. The winner could be next to challenge for the strap.
N’Gannou is riding a three-fight win streak, most recently knocking out Junior Dos Santos at UFC on ESPN 3 in June 2019. He also finished Cain Velasquez and Curtis Blaydes during the streak.
Undefeated, Rozenstruik finished his last five opponents. In his last outing, “Bigi Boy” knocked out Alistair Overeem with four seconds remaining in a five-round contest at UFC on ESPN 7 in December 2019.
