UFC Brasilia results: Charles Oliveira taps Kevin Lee for seventh straight finish
On Saturday, March 14, 2020, the UFC returns to Brazil for UFC on ESPN+ 28 and with the outbreak of Coronavirus, the event will be closed to fans and media.
UFC Brasilia takes place at the Ginásio Nilson Nelson and will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Kevin Lee and Charles Oliveira.
Following a one-fight stint at 170 pounds — a submission loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Rochester in May — Lee returned to the lightweight division in a big way. “The Motown Phenom” delivered one of the best knockouts of 2019 when he finished Gregor Gillespie with a head kick at UFC 244 in November.
Lee will lose a percentage of his purse as he missed weight by 2.5 pounds heading into his sixth UFC main event.
Oliveira will get the step up in competition many had been hoping he would get following his first round KO win over Jared Gordon at November’s UFC Sao Paulo event. “Do Bronx” has won — and finished — his last six fights, which includes wins over Clay Guida, Nik Lentz and Jim Miller. With a win, Oliveira will make a big statement to prove he belongs with the upper echelon of one of the UFC’s deepest divisions.
Here is how the lightweight main event between Kevin Lee and Charles Oliveira went down at UFC Brasilia, including round-by-round scoring. For full event results, check them out right here.
