UFC Chatbot Seemingly Leaks Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier for Lightweight Title
This is an odd scoop. But Twitter user @smeshjitsuonly has uncovered a premature announcement in the UFC’s chatbot that seemingly confirms that Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s UFC 257 main event will be for the lightweight title. Check out the tweet below:

Conor McGregor, the former champion, lost his last title bout to Khabib Nurmagomedov and then beat Donald Cerrone in his return a year ago. Poirier claimed the interim strap against Max Holloway.
The reigning champion, Khabib, defeated Justin Gaethje last year and retired undefeated at 29-0. Khabib then announced his retirement to the surprise of everyone.
While it’s not official until announced by the UFC and Dana White, coming from the official UFC Twitter account is a good indication of plans from the promotion.
The card is available on Pay Per View and according to the chat bot from the UFC, the PPV could be $84.98. It is unclear if that’s for high definition or not.
Poirier and McGregor is a rematch from 2014 which McGregor won via first round TKO. The two have grown a lot and the rematch is sure to be exciting.

In addition to the alleged title fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, UFC 257 has other fights to treat fans to. Recently announced, former Bellator champion, Michael Chandler, will make his UFC debut against lightweight contender Dan Hooker.
Former women’s flyweight contender Jessica Eye returns as well. Other notable names include Shane Burgos, Amanda Ribas, and Umar Nurmagomedov.
UFC 257 takes place on January 23rd in Abu Dabi on Fight Island as the UFC caps off a three card week there.
