UFC eyes Vicente Luque vs. Randy Brown rebooking on Aug. 1
Vicente Luque and Randy Brown will fight one another after all.
The two welterweights are scheduled to meet at UFC’s event on Aug. 1. Luque and Brown were originally slated to meet on April 11, but the bout was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brown mentioned the bout while streaming on Twitch. MMA Junkie was the first to confirm the bout on Tuesday, June 23.
Vicente Luque already competed once during the COVID 19 pandemic. The Brazilian came away with a first-round TKO [doctor stoppage] against Niko Price at UFC 249 on May 9.
The 28-year-old is 7-1 in his last eight fights inside the octagon. He suffered a unanimous decision loss to Stephen Thompson at UFC 244 in November 2019.
Randy Brown is on a two-fight win streak, most recently submitting Warlley Alves in the second round at UFC on ESPN+ 22 in November 2019. He also finished Bryan Barberena via third-round TKO at UFC on ESPN+ 12 in June 2019.
A location for the event is yet to be revealed.
