UFC Fight Night 119 results – Brunson vs. Machida
UFC Fight Night 119 takes place at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main card will air on FS1 following prelims on FS2 and UFC Fight Pass. Yesterday all fighters made weight without incident.
In the main event, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida took on Derek Brunson in a middleweight bout. A perfectly place left hook followed by a flurry of punches on the mat allowed Brunson to record a knockout victory over the Brazilian. The crowd fell completely silent as Brunson stood up and celebrated his win.
Also, former middleweight and weterweight title contender Demian Maia took on rising star, Colby Covington. Covington vowed to retire Maia in his native country of Brazil. Not only did Covington decisively beat Maia, he got on the mic and called Brazil a “dump.” Covington then had to be rushed out of the arena as fans began to throw items at him.
