UFC Fight Night 79 Results – UFC Seoul

If you live on the west coast of the United States it was a very, very, early start for you this morning on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC Fight Night 79 from Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul, South Korea streamed in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 5 a.m. EST, 2 a.m. PST, with the main card beginning at 8 a.m. EST.

The event was headlined by a welterweight bout between former UFC and WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Jorge Masvidal.  Former welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves was originally scheduled to face Henderson but was replaced by Masvidal after sustaining an injury.  Also, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic was supposed to fight in the co-main event but retired from MMA competition just weeks before the bout.  Several days later the UFC said that they had suspended Cro Cop for failing a drug test.
